FAQPublisher Questions Advertiser Questions Other QuestionsPublisher Questions
Q: How much does using the LinkXL™ service cost? Are there any hidden fees?
A:
LinkXL™ charges a 50% commission on all HTML text links you sell in your web sites. So if you sell a text link ad for $10 per month, you get $5 each month for that link as long as it is renewed and LinkXL™ will receive a $5 as a service fee.
LinkXL™ covers all marketing and site merchant charges that are involved in payment collections from advertisers. There are no hidden fees.
Q: Is the LinkXL™ service better than going through a text link broker?
A:
Brokers of text links tend to focus on the few higher PR pages on your site and ignore the lower PR pages where you can make the most money due to volume of sales. It is not cost effective for brokers to sell links on many of your inside pages. The LinkXL™ service allows you to sell or buy links on every page of your website. Our patented service is extremely automated and meets search engine standards.
The LinkXL service helps you sell links on 100s or 1,000s of your website pages. Remember, if you only sell an average of five dollars of text link ads on each of these pages, you can make a substantial amount of extra monthly revenue. Also, our service allows you to sell text link ads that advertisers really want – text ads integrated into relevant content.
Q: Do you require set pricing I should charge for advertisers to purchase HTML text links on my web site?
A:
We have the default charge set at $5 / month to get you started, however, you have the control to set the default prices for your domains to whatever you feel your links are worth.. You can also set specific charges for specific pages on your website. There is also a feature that allows you to charge a premium for anchor text that includes specific keywords. For example, you might want to charge a premium for text ads that contain the term SEO or Gambling since demand for such words is high.
Q: Am I allowed to still use LinkXL™ with other advertising systems such as Goolge Adsense, Yahoo! Publisher Network, AdBrite or other affiliate programs?
A:
It’s your site, who are we to say what type of ads you can or can not run? Our goal is that your site becomes a success and achieves all your goals, and if that involves using multiple advertising services – then do it! Your success is critical to our success!
Q: Right now I am already selling text link ads on my web site that are managed by a text link broker. Can I still use the LinkXL™ service to sell additional HTML text link advertising?
A:
Yes! It’s your site and only you know what is best for your advertisers and your bottom line.
Q: Do I have control over who advertises their HTML text links on my website?
A:
Yes, you can block / ban specific categories of websites from advertising on your web site. You even have the ability to block specific domains and advertisers from advertising on your web site.
Q: What if an advertiser buys an HTML link on my website but then I decide I do not want their link in the content of my website? Can I cancel their HTML link?
A:
Yes, you have full control of who advertises on your website. You can simply take any link down at any time. Keep in mind, if you take a link down, that advertiser will not have to pay for any portion of that month that their link was up. Also remember, if you want to take down links, it is best to take them down early in the month rather than late it the month.
Q: What if I decide to change the content of my page and some paid HTML links get taken down?
A:
We allow a maximum of 3 days down per HTML text link ad. If any ad does not meet this threshold, you will not get paid for the ad. Advertisers that have “link up time” issues on a continual basis will be suspended from the system. While we will allow occasional downtime issues, however, we expect our advertisers to make every effort to keep their advertisers HTML text links up 100% of the time.
Q: How and when do I get paid for the HTML text link ads on my web site?
A:
Publishers will be paid by the 10th of each month. This payout will be based on revenue collected from all ads placed or renewed on the publisher’s website(s) during the previous month that meet time guidelines. The Payout can be sent via PayPal or Check depending on publisher payout preference.
Q: What will happen if I raise the prices for HTML text links on my web site?
A:
If you raise text link ad prices on your site, only advertisers that buy new text link ads will be charged the new amount. Current advertisers can continue to renew at the same price for as long as the link they are buying on your site exists.
Advertiser Questions
Q: How are your HTML text link ads different than other text links I purchased or traded with link exchanges in the past?
A:
In the past, text link ads you purchased have traditionally been placed in tables located in the footer or sidebars of the site you of which you are advertising. Search engines can now algorithmically identify these large blocks of paid text links, and do not count them as real links to your site. If you buy links along side other text link ads, chances are they are not giving you any real value.
With the LinkXL™ service, we allow you to automatically place real text links in the content of publisher’s current indexed pages. For example, if your site sells Cookware, you could search our system for the keyword phrase “Pots and Pans”, and all pages that already have the phrase “Pots and Pans” in their content will be available to you for purchase. LinkXL™ enables you to buy “real HTML links” embedded in real content with the keywords you need to help you increase your websites natural traffic.
Q: What do the Search Engines and Directories think of LinkXL™ ?
A:
We have done everything possible to allow you to give the search engines exactly what they have been saying they want – natural links embedded in the content of relevant web pages. Of course, we are viewed as serious competition to their old fashioned, overpriced advertising models so we don't expect any 'endorsements' from them. This is fine, we are simply trying to give consumers what they want - ethical ways to get better search engine rankings and more traffic by using inbound HTML text links to their website.
Q: How much do you charge for HTML text link ads?
A:
We do not sell text link ads, we are simply a billing and placement service to help buyers (advertisers & link brokers) and sellers (publishers) connect. Each seller sets their own price. Since you will be able to buy highly targeted keywords on low PR pages, there should be several bargain links available. The advertisers that make the most money are those who sell the most text link ad inventory, so keeping prices low is to their advantage.
Q: I see a lot of Google PR 0 pages with the keyword I want. Is it worthwhile buying links on these pages with Google page rank of 0?
A:
Yes! Please don’t get hung up on Google PR numbers or you will spend more time than necessary on your links. As long as the page is indexed by the search engines, a PR0 page may offer you an extremely relevant link that will bring you the traffic you seek. Take a look at many of the most popular blogs and forums, you will see that most of the inside pages are PR0. However, I bet you wouldn’t mind having a link on those pages. With billions of web pages, PR can only be assigned to the top level pages of a site or PR updates would happen about once every few years.
Q: What if a publisher takes my HTML text link down early or before my renewal date?
A:
Advertisers pay for text ads one month in advance. We monitor your link each day and if your ad is down for more 80% of a month, you will be credited 100% of the link price back to your account and the publisher will not be paid. Of course, LinkXL™ feels that any downtime is too much and expect advertiser ads keep ads up 100% of the time. Advertisers that show a pattern of text ad downtime will be removed and banned from the LinkXL™ system. Please report any publisher that seems to be having excessive link down time to us.
Q: How do HTML Text Link Ad renewals work?
A:
You can renew any of your links at the same price as long as the text for your link exists on the publisher’s website. If you choose not to renew a link, simply log in and go to your LinkXL Link Bucket and check “do not renew” for all the text link ads you no longer want. At the end your HTML Text Links renew cycle, your link will be taken down and you will no longer be billed for that text ad. Remember, if re-buy that link at a later date, you will be charged the current price for the link, not your original price.
Q: When somebody buys a link does the link buyer provide a complete UNIQUE sentence with the link embedded in that sentence or does the automated script only output a link and anchor text?
A:
When someone buys a link they are buying one of the inventoried words that was indexed by our system from a publisher's site. Publishers place hidden tags around the content on their pages that they want to have inventoried by LinkXL. So in reality, the Advertiser searches for the anchor text they want, purchase that link and then determine the landing URL for that anchor text. It's as if you were the webmaster and placing the link yourself.
Other Questions
Q: You recently launched the ability for Advertisers and Publishers to add "No-Follows" to any text link. What are these and what are the pro's and con's of them?
A:
The choice is yours. With LinkXL you can now make your text links:
After numerous requests and recent developments with major search engines we added this ability for both Advertisers and Publishers to have nofollows on any links in a website wth the LinkXL system. This is in addition to the standard "follow" links that LinkXL is known for in relevant content. |
